ADA Terminal Checkout
POS Terminal Security
IT and Security are really important for any business, but especially for the BIGBOX stores when it comes to their POS Terminals and Hand-held devices. No doubt about it.
However, when it comes to the ADA, PCI, ISO 9564, 508 (ICT), and even CAL-FIN 13082, the cabling and device/terminal security is completely secure with the ADA stand and ensuring the accessibility and privacy laws and requirements are met. Below is a video example of a major retailer who is assistive to a customer, but not regulation ADA correctly. There are many reasons as to why and we will explain.
ADA Stands vs. Don't do.
IT Cabling
The POS Terminal Mounting and IT industry (except for TAYLOR ADA) will always scream cabling security when the reality is, it is not necessary unless you are in mounting sales . The fact is, – if somebody wants to hurt or destroy a POS terminal or its cabling, they will. We see it on social media all the time. When it comes to PCI DSS as an example they do have excellent guidance in general, but when it comes to the general public, not even guidance stops perpetrators or Karen’s as many call them.
The same holds for skimmers with physical payment devices and other infiltrating schemes and scammers. Do strongly note, (that there is no such thing as PCI DSS-compliant Mounting) for POS terminals and hand-helds. It literally does not exist.
Simply put, installing The ADA Stand is just as safe and secure as the most tight-knit POS terminal requirements there are. Doing the right thing (ADA Accessibility) for your customer base and honoring (all) the ADA, 508 (ICT), ISO 9564 and the CAL-FIN 13082 accessibility requirements both by Federal Law and caring is business sensitive to all cardholders security and privacy needs at any checkout.
