Section 2.6 Acessibility
While the VISA TADG—Accessibility section is small, its impact is immense. Whether a business owner, an acquiring bank, ISO, MSP, card terminal manufacturer, or vendor, it is all subject not only to the ADA but is also an important part of the checkout.
2.6 Accessibility Requirements
Device vendors and acquirers are responsible for ensuring that all customer-facing devices adhere to any and all accessibility requirements for the countries in which they operate and for the countries in which the devices are installed.
Acessibility Summary
The ADA has a minimum — One ADA Checkout — requirement. For multi-lane businesses, the ADA requirement is one, -every four lanes including any separate department with its own countertop like a pharmacy, electronics center, tire center etc.
A cardholder is to be able to independently access the POS terminal or hand-held. That means not handing the device or assuming they are going to tap with reach they may not have. This is why our ADA stand provides the ADA regulatory operable parts and ADA operation requirements with our special release features for dismount allowing for ADA visual accommodation and PIN entry privacy and requirements.
